The Aggie pitching staff is led by Cole Sanderson. He also assists with the strength and conditioning program. Sanderson spent this past summer as the pitching coach of the Traverse City (MI) Pit Spitters in their inaugural season in the prestigious Northwoods League. The team won the Northwoods League championship while tying the Northwoods League regular season win record. His staff led the league in ERA and WHIP. In addition, the pitching staff set the Northwoods League record for most shutouts in a season with 14. Sanderson helped coach the Northwoods League Pitcher of the Year, Andrew Hoffman, and League All-Stat, Kyle Jones. Sanderson began his coaching career with the Detroit Metro Stars, a travel baseball organization out of southeast Michigan. Sanderson spent 3 seasons with their 18U team, while assisting in the offseason pitching development programs. Sanderson comes from Macomb, Michigan where he attended Dakota High School. After graduation he began his collegiate playing career at Kellogg Community College (NJCAA D2) located in Battle Creek, MI. After completing his Associate’s Degree at Kellogg, Sanderson transferred to Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sanderson was selected as a team captain in his senior season at Davenport. He is also finishing up his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.
