CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Murray State College sophomore sensation - Isabella Hardeman - has earned one of the highest honors in college athletics, being named the 2025-26 NJCAA Student-Athlete of the Year, as announced by the National Junior College Athletic Association this week.
Hardeman was selected as the Betty Jo Graber Female Student-Athlete of the Year, an award that recognizes the top female student-athlete in the nation for excellence in athletics, academics, and community involvement.
A native of Oklahoma City, Hardeman has established herself as one of the premier pitchers in the country during her time with the Lady Aggies. The sophomore has put together a dominant 2026 campaign, compiling a 29-1 record with a 0.73 ERA across 34 appearances. In 134.2 innings pitched, she has allowed just 58 hits and 15 runs (14 earned) while striking out 196 batters and holding opponents to a minuscule .125 batting average.
Her performance in the circle has been nothing short of historic, as she continues to build on an already decorated career that includes being named the 2025 NJCAA Pitcher of the Year and earning six Pitcher of the Week honors throughout the season.
Beyond her on-field dominance, Hardeman has excelled in the classroom and has been an outstanding representative of Murray State College within the community - key factors in earning the NJCAA's most prestigious individual honor. The Student-Athlete of the Year award highlights individuals who embody the complete collegiate experience and serve as role models both on and off the field.
The Murray State College softball team is 61-1 on the season and ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA Coaches Poll. The Lady Aggies return to the field this afternoon to compete in the semifinals of the 2026 Southwest Plains Tournament.
