ARDMORE, Okla. – The top eight softball teams from Region 2 will compete in the 2026 Southwest Plains Softball Tournament beginning Wednesday in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The double-elimination tournament will run from May 6-10 with all the games taking place at Regional Park on Field 8 in Ardmore. The winner of the 2026 Southwest Plains Tournament will advance to the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series.
Murray State College is the No. 1 seed in the tournament as the Lady Aggies have dominated Region 2 competition with a perfect 28-0 record. Murray State College will square off against the No. 8 seed, Southeast Arkansas College, in their opening game.
The University of Arkansas Rich Mountain has also put together a strong season as the Bucks bring a 21-7 league record into the Southwest Plains Tournament to earn the No. 2 seed. They will go up against SAU Tech in their first contest who claimed the No. 7 spot.
National Park College earned the No. 3 seed with a 20-8 in-region record and will battle No. 6 Carl Albert State College in the first round on Wednesday.
Western Oklahoma State College and ASU-Newport earned the tournament's No. 4 and No. 5 seeds, respectively. They will square off against each other in the opening round as well.
TICKETS
Admission to the game is $10 for adults, $5 for those 11-18 years of age, $5 for military/first responder/seniors, and free for children ages 10 and under.
