Cady Ammons was Named Region 2 Player of the Week

SEMINOLE, Okla. – Murray State College sophomore outfielder - Cady Ammons - has been named the Region 2 Player of the Week after a dominant stretch at the plate, helping lead the Lady Aggies to a perfect week against UA Rich Mountain.

Ammons was nearly unstoppable in the four-game series, collecting 8 hits in 13 at-bats while driving in 11 runs and scoring 7 times. She recorded multiple hits in three of the four contests, highlighted by a monster performance on Saturday in which she went 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs, 4 runs scored, and 6 RBIs, powering the Lady Aggies to another run-rule victory.

In the series opener on Thursday, Ammons went 2-for-4 with an RBI, followed by a 2-for-3 effort that included two RBIs and a run scored in game two. She continued her hot streak the next day, adding another multi-hit performance along with extra-base production and timely hitting that consistently put pressure on the opposition.

On the season, Ammons has been one of the most productive hitters in the country, leading the NJCAA with 82 hits to go along with an impressive .543 batting average, 73 runs scored, and 77 RBIs. She has also tallied 17 home runs, 16 doubles, and 4 triples, showcasing both her power and versatility at the plate.

The Lady Aggies are ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA rankings with a 51-1 record on the season and carry an unblemished 20-0 mark in Region 2 play.

UP NEXT
The Lady Aggies return to the field on Friday for the beginning a four-game series against North Arkansas College. First pitch is set for noon.
