SEMINOLE, Okla. – Sophomore infielder,
Kaylee Carter, has been named Region 2 Player of the Week after a dominant four-game stretch that helped power the Lady Aggies to an undefeated weekend.
Carter was outstanding at the plate in matchups against Hutchinson Community College and Northeast Community College, consistently delivering timely hits and driving in runs in key moments.
She opened the week with back-to-back wins over Hutchinson, recording two hits including a home run in each contest while driving in three combined runs. Carter continued her hot streak against Northeast, tallying two hits in the first game before exploding for a four-hit performance in the finale. In that game alone, she drove in three runs and added a double and a home run to cap a remarkable offensive display.
On the season, the sophomore standout is hitting .667 with 29 RBIs, 28 runs scored, 19 walks, and 10 home runs.
The Murray State College softball team is 20-0 on the season and ranked No. 1 in the latest NJCAA DII Coaches Poll, which was released earlier today.
