Lady Aggies Sprint Past Eastern, Reach 20 Wins

MSC Women’s basketball beat Eastern Oklahoma State College on Thursday

Box Score WILBURTON, Okla. - The Murray State College women's basketball team opened up a 15-point lead late in the second quarter and never looked back against Eastern Oklahoma State College tonight as the visitors from Tishomingo earned the victory, 91-58.

Murray State's full court press took a toll on the hosts as the Lady Aggies were able to generate turnovers into layups in the later parts of the second quarter to open up their lead, 45-30.

The momentum continued in the third quarter as the Lady Aggies tightened their defense and went on a 23-9 run, stretching the lead to 29 points by the end of the period. Murray State never looked back in the fourth, cruising to the 33-point win.

Jordyn McNeal led the scoring effort with 17 points, consistently finding openings in the defense and finishing strong at the rim. Keshanti Gordon added 13 points, while Emily Steven chipped in 12. Eliece Perry rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points and some loud blocks at the basket.

With the win, the Lady Aggies improve to 20-6 on the season and 11-1 in Region 2 play.

Murray State returns to the court for a home game on Feb. 21 against Western Oklahoma State College. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
