CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Eli Ramirez turned in two dominant performances on the mound this week, earning NJCAA DII Pitcher of the Week honors.

In his first outing of the season, Ramirez struck out 11 batters over five scoreless innings. The freshman followed that performance up with another electric outing on Saturday, working four strong innings while striking out eight hitters and only allowing a pair of runs en route to a victory. He limited Southeast Arkansas to just three hits, issued only one walk, and consistently overpowered batters with his command and swing-and-miss stuff.

Despite facing pressure, Ramirez showed poise throughout his appearances, attacking the strike zone and shutting down rallies with timely strikeouts. His ability to control the game and keep Murray State College in position to win highlighted his importance to the Aggies' pitching staff.

Ramirez is 1-0 so far this season on the mound. He has thrown nine innings, while striking out 19 batters and only giving up two runs.

The Murray State College baseball team is 6-2 on the year.
