Men’s Golf Dominates Fall Aggie Invitational; Women finish Second

The Murray State College Golf Teams hosted their Fall Aggie Invitational

ARDMORE, Okla. – Murray State College men's golf delivered an outstanding performance at the Fall Aggie Invitational, capturing the team championship by a commanding 21 strokes while also having seven of the top 10 finishers. Murray State College women's golf earned a second-place finish at the Fall Aggie Invitational, placing five players inside the top 15.
 
Men:
The Aggies finished at +2 (866) for the tournament with rounds of 287, 288, and 291. North Central Texas took second at +23 (887), while Murray State's "B" team impressed with a third-place finish at +36 (900), ahead of Seminole State (+38, 902).
 
Individually, Murray State was led by Luca Bordoni and Connor Tallentire, who each posted 215 (-1) to share first place with North Central Texas' Max Aalto and force a three-man playoff. Luca Bordoni won the three man playoff to earn the outright victory. Joss Lopez narrowly missed joining them, finishing fourth at even-par 216 after carding three straight rounds of 72. Shashank Koirala added a tie for fifth at +1 (217), while Rhys English and Callum Hook tied for seventh at +2 (218). Keegan Westlake rounded out the top ten with a 221 (+5).
 
The Aggies' "B" squad also contributed standout showings. In addition to Bordoni sharing a tie for top individual score and English's top-10 finish, Jake Sprosen carded a 227 (+11) which put him in a tie for 13th.
 
Women:
As a team, the Aggies finished at +121 (985) to secure runner-up honors behind Redlands Community College, who won the event at +101 (965). Murray State's "B" team placed third at +148, edging out North Central Texas (+149) and Collin (+150) in a tightly contested battle for the top half of the leaderboard.
 
Individually, Emma Hardison led the way for the Lady Aggies with a fifth-place finish at +28 (244), followed closely by Gabby Hack in sixth at +30 (246). Madison Caldwell led the Murray State "B" Team as she tied for seventh at 248 (+32).
 
The Aggies also had three players finish inside the top 10: Amiya Raja and Caressa Woods (B team) tied for 10th at +34 (250), while Hana Cunnane finished tied for 13th at +35 (251). Isabella Stevens (259, +43) and Paula Gorostiaga (260, +44) added top-20 results, giving Murray State remarkable balance throughout the lineup.
 
In all, Murray State placed 11 golfers inside the top 25.
 
Following a strong showing from both squads at the Fall Aggie Invitational, Coach Coppedge praised the depth and balance of his teams, saying, "I'm extremely proud of both our men's and women's teams this week. The men showed incredible depth by winning in dominant fashion and placing seven players in the top ten, while our women displayed great consistency with five players finishing inside the top 15. These results highlight the competitive culture we're building across the program, and we'll carry this momentum into October."
 
Up Next: Murray State College Women's Golf will compete in the Snead State Women's Fall Invitational in Boaz, Alabama. The event will take place on October 13-14. The Men's Team will compete in the MGCCC Fall Invitational in Perkinston, Mississippi. The event will take place on October 27-28.
