SEMINOLE, Okla. – Murray State College soccer made a strong statement in Week 1 of the season as two Aggies captured NJCAA Region 2 honors. Dariel Contrera, a sophomore forward, was named Men's Player of the Week, while Theo Maniscalco, a freshman goalkeeper, earned Keeper of the Week recognition.

Contrera put together an outstanding week on the attack. He recorded a hat trick in Murray State's win over Connors State College, then followed it up with the decisive game-winning goal in the 85th minute against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. His clutch scoring powered the Aggies to a perfect 2–0 week.

Maniscalco was just as impactful on the defensive end. The freshman posted a clean sheet against Connors State, then turned in another strong performance by allowing just one goal in the victory over NEO A&M. His steady play in goal gave Murray State the foundation it needed to secure back-to-back wins.

The Aggies return to the pitch on Wednesday to host Rose State College at 3:30 p.m.
