NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. – Murray State College baseball player - Cash Kuiper - achieved a major milestone this afternoon, as he was selected in the 12th round of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft this afternoon. The talented right-handed pitcher was drafted by the Detroit Tigers with the 369th overall pick in the draft.

"It is a tremendous honor to hear your name called in the MLB draft. We couldn't be more proud of and happy for Cash and his family," said Coach Bjorling. "Cash has earned this through his tremendous dedication and hard work. This is just the next step for Cash. There is no doubt in my mind we will see Cash on a Major League Baseball mound in the near future."

The sophomore from Choctaw High School was outstanding for the Aggies this season, finishing with an impressive 8-3 record across 15 starts. Over 75 innings pitched, Kuiper struck out 90 batters, showcasing his ability to generate swings and misses while limiting opponents to a .258 batting average. He posted a 4.92 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP, demonstrating his durability and competitiveness throughout the season.

"During his time at Murray State, Cash was humble and hard working," continued Coach Bjorling. "He was one of the best teammates we've had here, and his selflessness and humility are special. Cash truly embodies what it means to be an Aggie."

Kuiper's consistency and effectiveness as a starter were instrumental in the Aggies' overall performance, making him one of the top pitchers in Region 2. He helped lead the Aggies to a 33-23 record and 14-10 mark in Region 2 last year.

This is the second Murray State College pitcher selected in the MLB Draft in the last three years. "This is a tremendous credit to Aggie Pitching Coach, Justin Eclavea, and the great work he does with our guys every year. Assistant Coach, Tim O'Connor, has also helped in a great way with our pitching staff," commented Coach Bjorling.
