Box Score HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa earned a 7-0 victory over Murray State College on Thursday evening in the second round of the NJCAA Region 2 Division II Baseball Tournament in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
The Mavericks' pitching kept the Aggies off the scoreboard despite several competitive at-bats from Murray State.
The Mavericks scored two runs in the second inning. The score would remain 2-0 NOC-Tonkawa until the eighth inning. The Mavericks scored four in the eighth inning and one in the ninth.
Murray State attempted to build a comeback late in the game, but was unsuccessful and ultimately fell to the Mavericks. The Aggies were led by
Junho Son,
Austin Haley, and
Cason Johnson as each recorded a hit in the contest.
Austin Haley went 5 2/3 innings on the mound, surrendering two earned runs while striking out seven.
The Aggies will return to the field Friday at 1:00 p.m. against NOC-Enid.
