ALTUS, Okla. – The Murray State Aggies snapped a three-game skid and notched their 20th win of the season Thursday night with a 86-67 triumph over Western Oklahoma State College in the men's basketball regular season finale.

With the victory, Coach Josh Davis' Aggies improved to 20-9 overall and forged a four-way tie for third place in the final Region 2 standings with a 9-7 league record. After conference tiebreakers, Murray State earned the fourth seed in next week's postseason tournament to be held at Muskogee High School.

The Aggies will have a rematch with Western in the tournament opening round at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

In Thursday's finale, the Aggies got off to the fast offensive start which had eluded them during the three-game losing skid as Bol Agu once again proved to be too much for the Pioneers to handle inside. The 6-foot-8 sophomore tallied 16 points in the opening half as Rustin Coffey added nine and Elijah Tshibangu chipped in eight in fueling a 39-29 advantage at intermission.

Both teams upped the ante offensively in the second half, but Murray State was up to the task in holding off the Pioneer charge. Agu posted another strong effort with 14 points after the break while RJ Chatman tossed in another 12, including a trio of three pointers. Tshibangu also connected for another 10 following the half.

Agu was the club's offensive catalyst with 30 points as four Aggies hit the double-figure mark. Tshibangu contributed 18, Chanon Frye had 13 and Chatman finished with 12. Coffey was just short of being the fifth Murray State player in double digits, ending with nine. Devon MacCollister and Abeeng Agot each pitched in two.
