Box Score TISHOMINGO, Okla. - The Murray State College women's basketball team came up short against No. 15 Grayson College inside Beames Fieldhouse tonight, 73–54.
The Vikings controlled much of the first half and took a 37–26 lead into the locker room, but the Lady Aggies refused to go away. Murray State battled back in the third quarter, tightening up defensively and finding a better rhythm on the offensive end. Their surge trimmed the deficit to just eight heading into the fourth, giving the visitors a chance to make things interesting late.
Spirit Sheriff led the way with 14 points, providing steady scoring throughout the night.
Emily Steven added 10 points, while
Aniah Richard and
Eliece Perry each chipped in nine.
Jada Toure contributed six points, and
Chardel Terrell added four.
Keshanti Gordon rounded out the scoring with two points.
Despite the strong push in the third quarter, Grayson responded in the final period, pulling away to secure the win.
With the result, Murray State moves to 4-4 on the season.
The Lady Aggies travel to Texas for a matchup against Southwestern Christian College on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
