Shilreff’s Double-Double Propels Aggies Past Vikings

MSC Men’s Basketball Defeated Grayson College on Thursday

TISHOMINGO, Okla. — Murray State College used a dominant second half and a balanced offensive effort to defeat Grayson College 74–65 Thursday night at home.

After 20 minutes of action, the sides went to their respective locker rooms with the visitors from Texas leading 34-31. Grayson College doubled their advantage to six just five minutes into the second half. A dunk by Abeeng Agot off an assist from Aymen Kraria cut the Murray State deficit to four with 14:32 to play.

The hosts capped a 7-0 run to take their first lead of the second half. The Vikings, though, respond with a basket to stop the run and take back the lead. A pair of three's by Haki Muhammad gave Murray State a five point advantage at the 7:24 mark. A three pointer by Devon MacCollister and a pair of free throws from Malachi Schilreff gave the Aggies their biggest lead of the game, 61-51, with just under four minutes to play. The Vikings would try to make a push, but the Aggies responded each time en route to a 74-65 victory Thursday night.

Malachi Schilreff delivered a steady force for the Aggies, recording a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. His work on the boards—eight defensive rebounds alone—helped Murray State control possessions and limit Grayson's second-chance opportunities.

Haki Muhammad II led all scorers with 21 points, knocking down five threes and providing key baskets during Murray State's second-half surge. Abeeng Agot added 11 points and two steals, while Tayesen Combs chipped in with 10 points and five assists, helping guide the Aggies' offense with composure.

Aymen Kraria stuffed the stat sheet with 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 points, operating as a high-impact two-way presence. Ashton Smith contributed eight points and five rebounds, and Domantas Šarauskas added quality minutes off the bench with five points and solid defensive play.

As a team, the Aggies shot 40.7% from the field and sank 13 three-pointers.
