RANGER, Texas – The Murray State College men's basketball team turned in one of its most balanced performances of the young season on Thursday evening, defeating Weatherford College 79–66 at the Ranger College Classic.

The Aggies came out sharp offensively, shooting over 50 percent from the field and building a 43–35 lead at halftime. Murray State maintained its composure in the second half, continuing to knock down shots and control the boards to secure the victory over Weatherford College.

Murray State was active defensively throughout the contest, forcing turnovers and limiting Weatherford's second-chance opportunities. The Aggies collected 11 steals on the night.

Murray State finished the night shooting 51.7 percent from the floor (30-for-58) and a strong 42.4 percent from three-point range (14-for-33), consistently creating quality looks throughout the game.

The Aggies were led by Haki Muhammad II, who delivered an efficient 18-point outing on 6-of-11 shooting, including four made threes. Ashton Smith and Abeeng Agot each added 16 points to give the Aggies three double-digit scorers. Smith knocked down four three-pointers on the night, while Agot went 7-of-12 from the field and contributed four rebounds and an assist.

Malachi Schilreff chipped in 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals, providing energy on both ends of the floor. Aymen Kraria anchored the interior with a game-high 9 rebounds—four of them on the offensive glass—and dished out 9 assists.

Murray State College will look to carry this momentum into their road contest tomorrow against Ranger College. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
