Isaiah Lewis and
Tarrance Austin each tossed in 11 first half points to spur Murray State to a big lead and the Aggies never looked back on the way to an 89-65 conference basketball win over Redlands Community College Monday night at Beames Fieldhouse.
The win was the Aggies third straight to improve their record to 14-13 overall and 9-4 in league play. Redlands dropped to 10-17 overall and 2-11 in the conference.
Lewis and Austin were a solid one-two punch and
Treyvaughn Williams also contributed nine as the Aggies rolled to a comfortable 40-25 cushion at intermission.
Murray State continued the onslaught after the break, posting another 49 points with a well-balanced attack that found four players in double figures with two others on the brink of it.
Lewis tallied 18 and Austin notched 17 in the winning effort as Williams tossed in 15 and
Dayvantia Campbell scored 10.
The Aggies also picked up eight points apiece from
RJ Chatman and
Stanley Harley.
Rustin Coffey added six,
Jackson Lawley had five and
Emery Eberhard rounded things out with two.
Currently third in the league standings, the Aggies will be back home Thursday night for a showdown with conference co-leader Northeastern Oklahoma A&M starting at 7:30.
