ENID, Okla – Winning for the fifth time in the last seven games, Murray State's Aggie basketball reached the .500 mark for the first time since November on Thursday night by finishing off a season sweep of Northern Oklahoma College in Enid with a 90-85 overtime victory.
While evening their overall record at 13-13, the Aggies are now 8-4 in conference play and remain solidly in third place in the league standings. NOC-Enid dips to 10-17 overall and 2-11 in league action.
It was as tight as you can get through two halves in the nip-and-tuck battle. The host Jets held a slim 39-38 edge at intermission with Murray State notching a 38-37 scoring advantage in the second 20 minutes to force the extra period.
Tarrance Austin poured in 15 and
Isaiah Lewis added 14 in the big second half.
Austin proved pivotal in overtime as well with five points, including a clutch trey, while
Emery Eberhard also came through with five in the extra session with Murray posting a 14-9 scoring edge.
It was Austin's second straight 27-point scoring explosion to tie his season high. Lewis pumped in 24 points as well with Eberhard reaching double digits at 13, which was also his season best outing.
Stanley Harley scored nine,
RJ Chatman had six,
Treyvaughn Williams tossed in five,
Ignas Juskevicius posted four with
Jackson Lawley rounding things out with two points.
Murray State returns home Monday after three straight road games with a 7:30 matchup against Redlands Community College.
