TERRELL, Texas – Five players tallied double figures and the 24
th ranked Murray State women wrapped up a three-game Texas road swing with a dominant 82-41 win over Southwestern Christian College on Saturday afternoon.
With the victory, the Lady Aggies up their season record to 8-2 and will be back home Monday for a 5:30 p.m. non-conference tilt with Ranger College.
Coach Nate Levine's squad got off to a rocky start, managing only eight points in the game's opening period before kicking things into high gear. The Lady Aggies reeled off 24 points in the second frame for a 32-20 edge at intermission.
Murray State kept the throttle down after the break, while erupting for 31 points in the third quarter to put things completely out of reach.
Mya Cotto pumped in 10 in the third period explosion en route to a team-high 18 points.
Ongolea Afu tossed in 14,
Taja Bennett and
Jordyn McNeal each had 11 with
Olivia Quapaw rounding out the double figure contributors with 10 points.
Arissa Garcia ended with seven,
Keshanti Gordon scored six with
Latai Charles notching four and
Elyssia Brooks two.
