In a hotly contested battle that included a handful of red and yellow cards, an Eastern goal late in the first half proved to be the game's only score in a 1-0 win over the seventh rated Murray State men's soccer team on Sunday afternoon in Wilburton.

The Aggies, who had already wrapped up the conference regular season crown, saw their 13-game season opening winning streak snapped and will have a week off before the Region 2 regular season finale at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M next Sunday.

Scoring was tough to come by in the rugged, emotional battle with a total of 22 fouls called on both teams combined.

Each team only had one shot on goal in the first half outside of the Mountaineer goal before Murray State outshot the hosts by a 6-2 margin after intermission.
