MIAMI, Okla. - Playing shorthanded on a long road trip spelled trouble for the Murray State Lady Aggies Monday night as they could not overcome a slow start in a 70-52 loss at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.

The Lady Aggies managed just 20 points in the first 20 minutes with Sosefina Langi notching half that total but Murray State only trailed 28-20 at intermission.

Coach Nate Levine's club couldn't find a defensive answer in the third period as NEO came out of the break on fire, sinking five third quarter three pointers on the way to a whopping 27 points.

That pushed the hosts' lead to 55-34 and they coasted the rest of the way as Murray State fell to 10-6 overall and 2-3 in league play.

Three of the four Lady Aggie scorers in the game reached double figures, fueled by Ongolea Afu's 17 points, including 13 after the half. Langi powered in 16 points, Tierra Williams added 12 and Mireia Casas notched six.

Murray State returns home Thursday night for a conference battle with Eastern Junior College starting at 5:30.
