Cooper spurs Murray men with huge second half

Freddie Cooper canned five three-pointers and poured in 25 points in the second half to spur the Murray State Aggies to an 88-69 win over visiting Western State College Thursday night at Beames Fieldhouse.

The game was knotted 34 at intermission before Cooper caught fire while igniting a massive 54-point scoring explosion over the final 20 minutes. The freshman stalwart finished the game with a season-best 31 points while connecting on seven treys.

Ridley Shema and A.J. Richard each tallied double figures as well with 11 and 10 points respectively. Stanley Harley tossed in nine, Cordrayius Graham had eight, K.J. Boone scored six with T.J. Gardner posting four along with three each from Tarrance Austin, Kameron Johnson and Jackson Lawley.

Now 8-14 on the season, the Aggies will return to action on the road Monday at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.
