Cold shooting Aggies fall to Norsemen

Murray State Sports Information

Frigid first half shooting from the perimeter dug the Murray State Aggies too big of a hole to overcome in a 66-48 conference opening loss to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Thursday night at Beames Fieldhouse.

The Aggies failed to connect on a single three-point attempt prior to intermission as NEO took advantage in building a 34-23 halftime cushion. The Aggies finally found the range a bit after the break but still only sank three treys and were unable to cut into the double-digit halftime deficit.

The Norsemen meanwhile rode the scoring production of T.J. Morris, who tallied 19 points in the contest to lead all scorers.

Stanley Harley was the lone Aggie in double figures, ending with 10 points. A.J. Richard posted eight while Dayten Holman and Kyle Tolbert tossed in six apiece. Kameron Johnson and Ridley Shema each added four, Jackson Lawley had three with Tarrance Austin, K.J. Boone and Freddie Cooper all chipping in two. Brian Fuery scored a point as well. Richard and Johnson each contributed a team-high eight rebounds.

Now 5-4 on the season, the Aggies travel to Jacksonville College Saturday for a 4 p.m. non-conference game before closing the pre-Thanksgiving schedule with a league road trip to NOC-Enid on Monday.
