TISHOMINGO, OKLAHOMA- The Murray State Aggies men's basketball team dominated in a 117-75 victory over Premier Prep Friday night at Beames Fieldhouse.
Jaylan Thomas lead the team with 17 points and five rebounds.
A three-point jumper by
Kyle Murray put the Aggies ahead 8-2 in the first two minutes of the game. After a three pointer hit by Premier Prep, the Aggies went on a 13-5 run to push the lead up to nine with 12:51 left in the half. Premier Prep would get within as much as six until a layup and three-point jumper by
Shem'mario Stephens would push the lead up to double digits with ten minutes to go in the half. The Aggies closed out the half 58-30 going into the break.
The second half saw both teams trading baskets early on until a layup by
Kyle Murray and an and-one basket by Thomas would push the Aggies lead to 72-43.
For the contest the Aggies shot 46-73 (63%) from the field,13-26 (50%) from three and made 12-21(57.1%) free throws. Along with Thomas' 17
Shem'mario Stephens finished with 14.
Adam Nance scored 16 and grabbed five rebounds.
Kyle Murray finished with 12 and tied a career high with six assists. Matthew Guidry finished with 11 and
Kobe Burgess finished with 10 points and a game high three steals.
Cedric Garrett grabbed a game high 10 rebounds.
Murray State will play on Sunday against Arizona Western at Beames Fieldhouse. The game will tipoff at 1 p.m.
