Akash Miriyala

Akash Miriyala was named Assistant Coach for the women’s basketball program in August 2023.

Miriyala has expertise in film breakdowns, analytics, and scouting. In addition to assisting with day-to-day operations, Miriyala leads film breakdown for practice, games, and player development. He also maintains a variety of advanced analytics metrics, dashboards, and statistical models for use in scouting, player development, in-game adjustments, and goal-setting/tracking.

Prior to Murray State College, Miriyala held various roles as a financial and data analyst. He has researched and written numerous articles focused on topics around basketball analytics and the women’s game at-large. He has deep knowledge of professional contracts and developmental paths for the WNBA and other professional leagues.

Miriyala has experience helping operate and referee youth basketball leagues, as well as operating and coaching youth basketball day camps. He earned a BS in Finance and Business Analytics from Indiana University in 2016. He is from Naperville, IL and lives in Tishomingo with his dog, Zo.
