Gary Akin begins his first season as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach.  Prior to taking the helm of MSC Women’s Soccer team, Akin served as the assistant to the Murray State Men’s Soccer team, followed by the women’s team.  Coach Akin has also overseen the training of the goalkeepers for both the men’s and women’s side the previous two years.

In addition to his college coaching experience, Akin has coached at the youth level as a volunteer assistant for the Durant High School girls program, coached numerous recreation and club team, including North Texas Celtic where he also was the Director of Goalkeeping for the north region of the NTX Celtic organization.

Akin holds an A.S in Conservation from Murray State College, a B.S in Fisheries and Wildlife from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and a M.S. in Technology from Southeastern Oklahoma State University as well as numbers licenses and certifications from U.S. Soccer and United Soccer Coaches.

Akin currently lives in Coleman, OK with his wife Jamie and daughter Sarah
