PLYMOUTH, Ind. - Murray State College men's golf finished ninth out of 20 teams at the 2026 NJCAA Fall Preview, posting a three-round team score of 13-over par against a highly competitive field that featured nearly all nationally ranked junior college programs.
 
The Aggies opened the tournament at 7-over par before improving to 1-over par and 5-over par in the final two rounds to finish at 13-over for the tournament. Murray State finished ahead of 11 teams in a field that included some of the top programs in NJCAA Division II.
 
Matyas Vysusil led the Aggies individually, finishing eighth overall at 4-under par. Vysusil opened with a 2-under-par round before carding an even-par and 2-under-par final two rounds to move up the individual leaderboard.
 
Joab Atkins finished at 2-over par (21st), while Connor Tallentire posted a 4-over-par total (31st). Alexander Thomsen finished at 9-over par, and Owen Wagie rounded out the Aggies' team scoring at 12-over par.
 
Kirkwood won the tournament at 17-under par, followed by Des Moines Area at 1-over and Heartland at 2-over. Murray State's ninth-place finish at 13-over par came against a field that included many of the nation's top-ranked junior college programs.
 
Murray State returns to action on Sept. 21 as they travel to New Mexico to compete in the Poss High County Shootout.
