RUIDOSO, New Mexico - The Murray State College men's and women's golf teams competed in the 2026 Delnor Poss High Country Shootout on Monday and Tuesday. The tournament took place in Ruidoso, New Mexico with the men's and women's teams competing at separate courses.
 
The Murray State College men's team finished fourth at the 2026 Delnor Poss High Country Shootout, closing the tournament at 28-under par with a three-round total of 836. The Aggies fired rounds of 287, 274, and 275 to finish in fourth place. Connor Tallentire led Murray State College individually, tying for fifth at 11-under par with a three-round total of 205 after rounds of 70, 64 and 71. Matyas Vysusil also recorded a top-15 finish, tying for 11th at 8-under par with rounds of 73, 66 and 69.
 
Alfie Akers finished tied for 27th at 4-under par with rounds of 72, 73 and 67, including a 5-under 67 in Tuesday's final round. Keegan Westlake tied for 30th at 3-under par after shooting rounds of 73, 72 and 68, while Matthieu Riffet finished tied for 65th. Alexander Thomsen. Henry Dowsett, and Louis Dudzus, all competed as individuals and finished 24th, 42nd, and 54th respectively.
 
The women's team finished sixth at the Women's Poss High Country Shootout, posting a two-round total of 664 (+96). Murray State College opened with a team score of 333 before improving to 331 in Tuesday's final round. New Mexico Junior College won the team championship at 18-over par, followed by Weatherford College at 36-over par and Western Texas College at 53-over par.
 
Amiya Raja and Enora Castillon led the way individually for Murray State College, tying for 23rd at 18-over par with identical totals of 160. Raja carded rounds of 82 and 78, while Castillon finished with rounds of 77 and 83. Hana Cunnane tied for 30th at 25-over par with a two-round total of 167 after shooting 86 in the opening round and improving to 81 on Tuesday. Paula Gorostiaga Alvarez and Alida Lie both tied for 42nd at 37-over par, each finishing with a total of 179. Gorostiaga recorded rounds of 90 and 89, while Lie posted rounds of 88 and 91.
 
The men's and women's golf teams will return to competition on October 12 as they host the Aggie Invitational in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The invitational will last two days and be played at Lake Murray Golf Course.
