EL RENO, Okla. - Murray State College's academic team opened its competition season in impressive fashion, claiming first place at the Community College Kickoff hosted by Redlands Community College on Sept. 19.
 
The Murray State College "A" team led the field, finishing in first place with a scoring average of nearly 500 points per game. The MSC "B" team also delivered a strong performance, earning second place overall.
 
The two MSC teams battled throughout the competition, with the "B" team's only loss coming against the MSC "A" team by just five points. The close result highlighted the depth and competitiveness of the Murray State College academic team.
 
With the Community College Kickoff now in the books, MSC will return to competition on Oct. 3 when the college hosts NAQT Collegiate Novice. The event will give both teams another opportunity to compete against top collegiate academic teams and build on their strong start to the season.
