TISHOMINGO, Okla. – Murray State College is proud to announce the hiring of Chris Spear as the new Head Women's Soccer Coach.

Spear brings more than 25 years of coaching experience and a proven track record of developing student-athletes both on and off the field. His background includes coaching at the youth, club, and collegiate levels, as well as extensive experience in leadership, player development, and team management.

"We are excited to welcome Chris Spear to the Murray State College family," said Murray State College Executive Vice President, Justin Cellum. "Coach Spear has a passion for soccer, a deep commitment to student-athlete success, and a wealth of experience that will greatly benefit our women's soccer program."

Most recently, Spear served as an assistant coach for the men's and women's soccer programs at Jacksonville College during the 2023-24 season. He also currently coaches with Solar Soccer Club, one of the premier soccer organizations in Texas, where he works with ECNL and ECNL Regional League teams competing at a high level. Throughout his coaching career, he has helped guide and mentor countless players, with 89 student-athletes earning opportunities to continue their careers at the collegiate level.

"I am incredibly honored and excited to be named the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Murray State College," said Spear. "This is a tremendous opportunity and I am grateful for the confidence and trust placed in me by the administration. I look forward to working with the student-athletes to carry on the winning tradition of Murray State Athletics."

A former collegiate player at Midwestern State University, Spear also competed with the Dallas Americans professional reserve squad, highlighted by a match against the United States National Team.

Spear earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Dallas Baptist University and an Associate in Applied Science in Business from Tarrant County Junior College.
