PICKWICK LAKE, Ala. – The 2026 ACA Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship brought together one of the deepest fields in collegiate fishing, and Murray State College turned in a strong overall performance, finishing 16th in the team standings.
Leading the way for the Aggies was the duo of
Carson Owen and
Jackson Roumbanis, who paced the team with a 68th-place finish and a two-day total of 29.90 pounds. The pair improved on Day 2 with 15.88 pounds after bringing in 14.02 pounds on Day 1.
Cade Smith and
Axel Pierce followed closely with a Top 75 finish, placing 74th overall at 28.18 pounds. The duo recorded a full limit and closed strong with 15.04 pounds on Day 2.
Braden Lankford and
Payton Bryant added to the Aggies' depth with a 138th place finish (16.30 pounds), while
Kooper Counts and
Seth Salcido rounded out the Murray State College teams in 157th place with 12.47 pounds.
As a team, the Aggies showcased consistency across multiple boats, placing two teams inside the Top 75 and all entries bringing fish to the scales. Competing against nearly 200 boats from programs across the country, Murray State was able to earn a 16th place finish.
