TISHOMINGO, Okla. - Murray State College Head Golf Coach, Lukas Coppedge, announced the addition of Tyler Eaves to the Aggie golf coaching staff.
Â
Eaves brings both collegiate playing experience and a strong background in player development to the Aggies. He attended Hesston Junior College before completing his bachelor's degree at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Â
Following his playing career, Eaves transitioned into the professional side of the game, serving as the Assistant Golf Professional at Dornick Hills Country Club while finishing his degree. During that time, he discovered a passion for instruction and player development that will translate directly into his new role at Murray State.
Â
"Golf has been part of my life for as long as I can remember," said Eaves. "My mom and grandmother both worked at a golf course when I was a baby, so I was introduced to the game at an early age. I played in college and then transitioned into my role as the Assistant Golf Professional at Dornick Hills Country Club while finishing my bachelor's degree. This is where I developed a strong passion for teaching. I truly enjoy helping others improve, but I also missed being part of a team. This opportunity with Murray State allows me to coach, develop players, and return to a team environment that offers a truly unique experience."
Â
Eaves' combination of competitive experience and instructional knowledge is expected to make an immediate impact on both programs as the Aggies continue to build and compete at a high level.
The Murray State College women's golf team returns to action on April 13 for the D2 Central District Championship in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The men's golf team travels to Missouri to compete in the D2 South Central District Championship on April 28.
