Westlake, Aggies Win Seminole State College Invite; Women Place Second

SEMINOLE, Okla. — The Murray State College golf teams turned in another strong showing today, highlighted by a first-place finish from the Aggie men and a runner-up finish from the Lady Aggies.
 
Men:
The Murray State College men's golf team captured the team title with a two-round total of +38, finishing well ahead of the field. The Aggies posted rounds of +20 and +18, beating second-place Seminole State by 17 strokes (+55) and third-place North Central Texas by 18 strokes (+56).
 
Individually, Keegan Westlake won the Seminole State College Invite with an impressive +5, carding rounds of +3 and +2. Shashank Koirala followed with a tie for third at +8 after rounds of +2 and +6, while Connor Tallentire added a fifth-place finish at +12 with scores of +7 and +5. Joss Lopez placed 12th at +17, and Luca Bordoni finished tied for 17th at +20, helping secure the team victory.
 
Women:
On the women's side, the Lady Aggies placed second overall with a team total of +110, finishing behind tournament champion Redlands Community College (+97). Murray State improved in the second round, shaving 10 strokes off their opening-round score, posting the top second round score.
 
Three Lady Aggies finished inside the top 10 individually. Amiya Raja and Emma Hardison each tied for third place at +23. Raja recorded rounds of +11 and +12, while Hardison shot +13 and +10. Paula Gorostiaga Alvarez finished tied for sixth at +29 after improving from +18 in round one to +11 in round two.
 
Additional scoring came from Hana Cunnane, who tied for 10th place at +35, and Enora Castillon, who tied for 16th at +39. Madison Caldwell finished tied for 22nd at +44.
 
The Murray State College women's golf team returns to action on April 13 for the D2 Central District Championship in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The men's golf team travels to Missouri to compete in the D2 South Central District Championship on April 28.
