MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Murray State College men's golf team opened the spring season with a strong showing, earning a tie for sixth place out of 13 teams at the Titan Winter Invitational, hosted at Suntree Country Club in Melbourne, Florida.
The Aggies were led by
Shashank Koirala, who posted a +4 to earn second place in the individual standings. Koirala turned in tremendous rounds all tournament, highlighted by his opening-round 71 (-1).
Joss Lopez and
Callum Hook followed close behind as Lopez posted a top-25 finish with a +15 for the tournament. Hook drained a putt in his final hole to record a +20 for the two-day tournament.
Luca Bordoni also competed for the Aggies as he fired his best round of the tournament over his final 18 holes today to record a +26 for the competition.
Central Alabama Community College won the tournament by a single stroke over Keiser University.
The Murray State College men's golf team will return to action later this spring as the Aggies compete Feb. 23-24 at the NCTC Spring Invitational.
