Lady Aggies Compete at Missouri Baptist University Open

Murray State College women’s wrestling competed in Missouri today

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Murray State College women's wrestling team gained valuable experience and turned in several strong individual performances at the Missouri Baptist University Open on Friday.
 
At 103 pounds, Vivian Hayes led the way for the Lady Aggies with a fourth-place finish, earning 12 team points. Hayes battled through the consolation bracket with a forfeit win, followed by an impressive pin over Kaylei Parish (Lyon College) in just 56 seconds to secure a spot in the third-place match.
 
Also finishing fourth was Addison Polk at 110 pounds, who scored 10.5 team points. Polk opened her day with a fall over Mackenzie Graves (Quincy), then rebounded in the consolation semifinals with a 7-2 decision over Emma-Grace Cabinian (McKendree) before competing in the third-place bout.
 
At 145 pounds, Adrianna Chronister picked up multiple victories, including a 10-4 decision in her opening match and a quick fall in the consolation rounds, finishing the day with 3.5 team points.
 
The Lady Aggies showed depth and toughness at 160 pounds, where multiple wrestlers earned wins. Gabby Akers turned in a strong run with two falls in the consolation bracket and totaled 7.5 team points. Serenity Vaughn added 4 points with a pin in championship play, while Kaylee Davis recorded two rapid pins in the consolation rounds to finish with 5 team points.
 
Additional Murray State competitors across multiple weight classes gained mat time against quality opponents from NCAA and NAIA programs, continuing their development as the season progresses.

The Murray State College women's wrestling team returns to the mat on Jan. 21 as they host NOC-Tonkawa. The dual is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
