Murray State College men’s wrestling competed in NJCAA Coaches Association Duals

MIAMI, Okla. - The Murray State College men's wrestling team competed in a challenging series of duals over two days, facing five opponents on Friday before returning to the mat for bracket play on Saturday.
 
Murray State opened Friday against Labette Community College and dropped a 37-12 decision in the first dual. The Aggies then faced Snow College in the second dual of the day, coming up short by a score of 32-16. Later Friday, Murray State squared off with Iowa Central Community College and suffered a 46-3 loss.
 
The Aggies continued Friday competition against Northwest College, falling 35-17 in the fourth dual. Murray State closed out Friday on a positive note in the fifth dual, earning a 29-12 victory over Neosho Community College to cap a long day of wrestling.
 
Murray State returned to action on Saturday for bracket play, facing NOC-Tonkawa in its sixth dual. Despite strong efforts across multiple weight classes, the Aggies fell 40-18.

Gavin Wehr performed well in the 133 lb weight class. He went 3-3 in the event, including a pin on NOC-Tonkawa and a major decision over Neosho Community College.

In the 149 lb. division, Kade Carter was exceptional for the aggies as he went 5-1 over the two days, including one pin over NOC-Tonkawa, a tech fall, and a major decision over Snow College.

Nathan Brown defeated Neosho Community College in his lone win of the duals.

Kaden Gallagher performed well as he picked up a pair of individual victories over Labette Community College and Snow College.

Nate Jean was outstanding for the Aggies in the 174 lb division. Jean was 4-2 through six duals, including a pin of NOC-Tonkawa.

Brayden Tomlinson put together a pair of solid days as he earned three individual victories, including a pair of pins (Neosho Community College and Northwest College).

The Aggies return to the mat on January 14th as they travel to Poteau, Oklahoma to take on Carl Albert State College.
