Box Score TISHOMINGO, Okla. – Murray State College women's soccer earned a strong 3-2 win over Redlands Community College on Sunday.
The Lady Aggies opened the scoring in the 24th minute when
Mariana Morena fired a shot from just outside the box to put Murray State ahead. The Lady Aggies took the 1-0 advantage into the second half.
Redlands answered late in the second half, equalizing on a corner kick as Zoe Howell scored with a header to knot the match at one.
Murray State broke the deadlock in the 82nd minute, as
Jasmyn Jackson found the back of the net with the go-ahead goal. Just six minutes later,
Daniela Sandoval extended the lead with an 88th-minute strike from long range.
Redlands would score a goal with 11 seconds remaining in the match as Madysin Kellum collected the loose ball and kicked it into the back of the net. The Lady Aggies, though, would keep possession of the ball the remaining 11 seconds to earn the 3-2 victory.
Coach Winning praised his team's determination following the hard-fought victory, noting, "It was a scrappy game in a lot of phases but the ladies showed a lot of desire and the necessary work rate it takes to win a game in the conference."
The Lady Aggies travel to Midwest City to take on Rose State College on Wednesday. The match is set to start at 1 p.m.
