ALTO, N.M. – The Murray State College men's golf team battled through three rounds at the loaded Poss High Country Shootout, finishing in 10th place overall at 848 (-16) against one of the strongest fields in the country.

Leading the Aggies was Connor Tallentire, who delivered a standout performance with rounds of 72, 63, and 68 to finish at -13 (203) and a tie for 7th place individually. His second-round 63 tied the program record for lowest round and included an impressive 29 on the back nine.

Behind him, Callum Hook tied for 46th at -2 (214), while Joss Lopez and Keegan Westlake each closed with final-round 70s to share 56th at +1 (217). Shashank Koirala rounded out the team scoring with a +4 (220), good for a tie for 63rd.

Odessa College claimed the team title at -58 (806), edging Midland College by just one stroke (-57, 807). Garden City CC rounded out the top three at -50 (814).

Coach Coppedge was quick to highlight Connor Tallentire's record-setting performance at The Poss High County Shootout: "It was a crazy impressive tournament from Connor this week. Posting 13-under through three rounds might be a program record, and his second-round 63 tied our single-round record — highlighted by an incredible 29 on the back nine. This tournament is the toughest event we'll play all year, and we're excited to build on this performance and come out strong next week at our home event, the Aggie Invitational."

The Aggies return to the course Monday as they host the Aggie Invitational in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
