ARDMORE, Okla. – The Murray State College men's golf team delivered a historic performance at the OCAC Championship this week, shattering multiple program records on their way to capturing the tournament title.
Led by standout performances from
Joss Lopez and
Dylan Ros, the Aggies posted a program-best team score to secure a dominant win over a competitive field. The highlight of the tournament came during the second round, when sophomore
Joss Lopez fired an electrifying 6-under-par 64 – the lowest individual round in program history.
While Lopez's historic round helped vault the team into the lead, it was teammate
Dylan Ros who finished the job. Ros maintained steady play across the two rounds to capture the individual championship title. His consistency and poise under pressure proved vital in securing both his personal win and the team's overall victory.
"It was great to see the team shoot as low as they did today," said Coach Coppedge. We have a break off until Districts in May. Congratulations to Dylan on winning the conference event with a 67, 66 (-7) to record the lowest individual total in Murray State College history."
Murray State College will next compete at the South Central District Championship in Oklahoma City. The two-day event will take place May 7-8.
