TISHOMINGO, Okla. – Murray State College has announced the resignation of
Brandon Bowling from his position as Athletic Director.
Brandon Bowling was hired in July of 2024. Before coming to Tishomingo, Bowling spent eight years in the athletic department at Jessup University working his way up to the Deputy Director of Athletics in 2019. Prior to Jessup University, Bowling served as the Director of Athletics Marketing and Development at Northern State University and as an Athletics Marketing Representative at Upper Iowa University.
"We appreciate all of the support that Athletic Director Bowling provided to our competitive teams," said Dr. Tim Faltyn, Murray State College President. "We wish him the best in his future endeavors."
During his tenure, the Murray State College men's soccer team, men's and women's golf teams, women's basketball team, and softball team won their District/Region Tournaments and competed in their respective National Tournament. The Aggie Bass Fishing Team won two JUCO National Championships, Shotgun Team won the Division IV Classic All-Around National Championship, and the men's and women's cross country teams qualified for Nationals two consecutive years.
In addition, Bowling successfully hosted the Region 2 Southwest Plains Softball Tournament in Ardmore and oversaw the inception of the men's and women's wrestling programs including appointing their first wrestling coach.
"As I step away from my role at Murray State, I do so with a heavy heart," said
Brandon Bowling. "We accomplished a lot in athletics and we have tremendous coaches that are intentionally committed to their student-athletes. I wish the Aggies nothing but success. Our coaching staff will hold a special place in my heart, and I look forward to following all of their successes as they grow in the business for years to come."
Murray State College will immediately launch a national search for its next athletic director.
