PARKS CITY, Kan. - Murray State College men's wrestling put together a gritty performance at the Falcon Open over the weekend, highlighted by a third place finish for 
Hudson Beckley.
At 125 pounds, 
Desmond Mayfield opened his tournament with a strong 4-2 victory over Ryan Buchanan of Morningside University before dropping his next two matches.
In the 133-pound division, 
Hudson Beckley turned in an outstanding performance to earn third place. Beckley won five matches on the day, including a pin over Rev Baptista of Waldorf University, a 16-0 tech fall over Trace Brisendine of Fort Hays Tech Northwest, and an 8-3 decision against Matt Long of Pratt Community College. He followed with a 1-0 win over David Ritchey of Labette Community College before a forfeit win over Long to claim third.
Also at 133, 
Gavin Wehr opened with a pin over Tayleon Flores of Central Christian College and battled hard in his next two bouts.
At 149 pounds, 
Kade Carter had a strong day on the mat, going on a deep run that included a pin over Richard Colby of Fort Hays Tech Northwest, a decision over Nakkos Benton of Baker College, a 12-2 major decision against Mason Moore of Friends University, and a 9-4 victory over Trevor Mogren of St. Mary.
Nathan Brown impressed at 157 pounds, racking up a tech fall win over Colby Vollmer of Central Christian College, followed by thrilling decisions of 14-12 over Diego Escalante (St. Thomas University) and 15-11 over Blake Velotta (Oklahoma Wesleyan).
At 165 pounds, 
Kaden Gallagher secured wins over Dustin Springfield Jr. (Ottawa University) and Jack Sherrell (Doane University), while 
Izaya Elix dominated with three pins—over Jake Crimmel (Northwestern College), Joshua Aguirre (Bethany College), and Keenan Tumbarello (Avila University).
In the upper weights, 
Brayden Tomlinson had a standout performance at 197 pounds, earning four wins, including pins over Noah Crossman (Avila University), Noah Austin (Missouri Baptist University), and Jason Osgood (Cowley College) and a 7-3 victory against Jamarkus Campbell (Wayland Baptist University).
At 285 pounds, 
Tyler Medeiros competed tough but came up short in both of his matches.
Overall, the Aggies showed impressive fight and continued improvement throughout the tournament. The Murray State men's wrestling team returns to the mat on Tuesday, Nov. 4 as they take on Neosho Community College.
