Lady Aggies Earn Draw in Regular Season Finale

MSC Women’s Soccer tied with the University of Arkansas-Rich Mountain

Box Score MENA, Ark. — Murray State College women's soccer wrapped up the regular season with a 1-1 draw on the road against the University of Arkansas–Rich Mountain on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Aggies struck early when Daniela Sandoval scored in the 4th minute off a penalty kick, putting Murray State in front. Rich Mountain, though, answered later in the first half to even the match at one.
 
Neither team was able to break through in the second half as both defenses stood firm and goalkeepers made key stops to keep the match level. Both Murray State and University of Arkansas-Rich Mountain generated several promising attacks, but couldn't quite find the finishing touch.
 
Coach Winning praised his team's effort after the hard-fought match, saying: "Great performance all round against a team which has been in the top 2 of the conference all season. A great platform to build into the postseason with"

The draw closes out the regular season for Murray State College, who now shift their focus to the upcoming Region 2 Tournament, where they'll aim to carry their momentum into postseason play.

The Lady Aggies will open up Region 2 Tournament play next week. The Region 2 Tournament spans from October 30 - November 2.
