The Murray State women's and men's soccer teams will participate in the NJCAA Region 2 and South District Championship beginning on Thursday at the Advance Soccer Complex in Enid, Oklahoma.

Coach Alex Morais' Lady Aggies, who are the tournament's fifth seed, will compete in the tournament's opening contest at 9 a.m. on Thursday against host and fourth seeded Northern Oklahoma College-Enid. Murray State enters the event with a 9-5-3 season record, but on a two-game win streak. The Lady Jets meanwhile coming in with an 8-6-3 overall mark.

The teams battled to a 1-1 deadlock in their first match-up of the season back on August 31 and NOC-Enid was a 2-1 victor when the teams faced off in Tishomingo.

On the men's side the Aggies will be looking to defend their district title from a year ago as the tournament's top seed. The once-beaten Aggies won't begin play until 11:30 a.m. on Friday in the semifinals after receiving an opening round bye.

Sporting a 15-1 record, Murray State awaits the winner of Thursday's first round contest pitting NOC-Enid and Rose State.

The Aggies swept regular season match-ups with NOC-Enid, winning 5-1 and 7-2. They also claimed both meetings with Rose State, notching 5-1 and 3-0 triumphs.

Tournament title contests will be played on either Saturday or Sunday.
