Cristina Escudero blasted through a first half goal in the 16
th minute to put Murray State in front but the Lady Aggies couldn't withstand a late charge from the visitors in a 2-1 home loss to Northern Oklahoma College-Enid on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Aggies slipped 5-3-2 overall and 4-3-2 in conference play as they began the second half of the league schedule. They'll continue a busy week on the road Friday at Connors State before hosting Rose State on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
Escudero's goal off a
Caitlin Jones assist proved to be the only score before intermission as the Lady Aggies had several other opportunities but just couldn't find the back of the net on nine total shots on goal for the game.
Takielia Griffiths was solid in goal for Murray State, posting eight saves in the contest.
"Overall, I thought the team performed well, especially in the first half," head coach Alex Morais said. "I believe we got tired in the second half and ended up giving our opposition too much time and space on the ball. We've got to move on now as we have an important game on Friday at Connors."
