In a showdown of nationally ranked foes Wednesday, fourth-rated Seminole State held off the 20
th ranked Murray State Lady Aggies, 2-1, in a tight contest throughout.
All three goals came in the opening 45-minute session with the Lady Aggies getting a goal from leading scorer

Uxia Varela assist with roughly 20 minutes remaining before intermission. Seminole State punched across another goal with five minutes left to break the deadlock.
"Seminole had most of the action in the first half and then we played very well in the second half, limiting their shots and adding a few ourselves," head coach John Connor commented. "We missed a couple of chances at the end of the game that could have tied it up.
"I think we played really well in the second half and competed well for 90 minutes against one of the Top 4 programs in the country."
Jimena Guevara tallied six saves in goal for Murray State.
The Lady Aggies, which slip to 6-1 on the season, continue their current homestand on Sunday with a 2 p.m. conference matchup against Redlands Community College. Seminole State improved to 5-0.
