Another dominant defensive performance and relentless offensive attack propelled the Murray State Lady Aggies to a 9-0 conference shutout of visiting Connors State in soccer action Sunday afternoon to remain undefeated on the year.

Now 6-0 on the season, the Lady Aggies will attempt to equal their 7-0 opening slate of 2019 when they host nationally sixth-ranked Seminole State at 2 p.m. Wednesday in a showdown of unbeatens.

"We did well again today," head coach John Connor stated. "We had good formations and good set up. The girls played hard and transitioned well and it's always good to have a clean sheet. Sometimes you get the lead and then let up a little and we didn't want to have that today. I was really proud of them. The work we are putting in is showing and we still have a long way to go. Hopefully we can continue on and put this school on a pedestal for women's soccer.

"We have a very important game and big battle Wednesday with Seminole, which is a top team in the nation and powerhouse in our conference, so it was very important to finish strong and hopefully carry that over to a strong start in that one."

Two first half saves by Jimena Guevara were the only two shots on goal by Connors State in the entire game as the Lady Aggies controlled the possession in their offensive end almost exclusively throughout the contest.

Murray State punched through the first goal less than nine minutes into the contest when Kaylee Foster fed Lily Humes with a corner pass just in front of the goal and she punched it through.

The Lady Aggies added to the lead on a similar play with 19:45 remaining as Foster assisted again from the corner with Celine Loraine heading the shot into the net. Foster got on the board herself six minutes later, breaking free in front of the Connors State back line to punch one through with her left foot from roughly 10 yards away.

Freshman Mercedes Stumblingbear got in on scoring action with a pair of goals to close the half, the first coming off a deflection in front of the Cowgirl net and the second on a breakaway down the left side.

Connor's troops added to the commanding 5-0 halftime edge early in the second half with Foster's second breakaway goal of the game. She then hooked up with Humes again to record her third assist of the day to go along with Humes' second goal.

Reserves added to the margin down the stretch with Cristina Escudero scoring off a centering pass at the 13:41 mark and Caitlin Jones hammered home the final goal from 20 yards in front of the net with just 8:45 remaining.

In total, Murray State ended with a whopping 26 shots on goal to only two for the visitors.
