TISHOMINGO, Okla. – The Murray State College bass fishing team began their season at the Sam Ryburn Reservoir in Brookeland, Texas. The Aggies put together a terrific showing, highlighted by Shaden Farley and Trace Kight placing 56th out of 198 teams.

The Farley and Kight duo paced Murray State College by catching five fish that totaled 9 pounds and 11 ounces. Nevon Bump and Fisher Hill also recorded a top-100 finish as they caught three fish that totaled 5 pounds and 11 ounces.

Payton Bryant and Brezlyn Hightower followed closely behind Bump and Hill as they finished just outside the top 100, while the team of Braden Lankford and Sam Sutter reeled in their first fish of the season as well.

Coach Owen was pleased with the results of his team. "Our team went to a new lake for the first tournament of the season," Owen said. "They learned a lot that will help them this year. We had one team that finished in roughly the top 25%, which is a good day for us. All and all, the team is performing well as expected."
