Sophomore Aliyah Tomlinson scored two second half goals to help force overtime and Lizbeth Sanchez found the back of the net with 3:41 remaining in the second extra period to give Murray State College a dramatic 4-3 win over Rich Mountain on Sunday.

The Lady Aggies rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit for their initial win of the season, notching the first two scores from Tomlinson before knotting the action when Faith Wylie punched in a deflection off the Bucks' goalkeeper save with 6:43 left in regulation.

That's how things stayed through a scoreless first overtime until Sanchez blasted the game-winner into the right side of the net from roughly 20 yards out.

"It was a really good win for the girls," head coach Gary Akin said. "They did a really good job fighting back and I couldn't be prouder of them. I was very happy with the effort in the second half especially. We played about 17 different girls, and they all contributed greatly to this win.

"It's nice to get the first win. We've been close a few times but just couldn't finish it off until today."
Rich Mountain scored the two first half goals as Murray State was on the defensive most of the opening 45 minutes before turning up the offensive aggression following intermission.

Tomlinson broke the shutout at the 26:10 mark of the second half with a left-footed shot off a Sanchez assist 15 yards out on the right wing.

After Rich Mountain extended the lead four minutes later, Murray came right back with Tomlinson's second straight goal coming from 20 yards out into the left corner of the net.

A huge save by Jimena Guevara with 8:20 remaining kept the deficit at just 3-2 setting the stage for Wylie's game-tying boot.

"We wanted to be more aggressive in first half but just didn't get it done," Akin commented. "We made those adjustments at halftime and the girls came out and did a great job and we were able to generate more scoring opportunities. Aliyah is always a threat and Faith did a really good job on the tap in that tied the game.

"We thought we had opportunities before that to win in the first overtime and we knew when it left Liz's foot that it was going in the net at the end."

Murray State returns to conference action on Wednesday at Redlands Community College in El Reno.
